Landlord and Tenant	A landlord owns property and grants exclusive rights to a tenant for a set time in return for a fee (usually known as rent).

Latin America	Law and practice in the countries of Latin America.

Legal Aid	Financial assistance sometimes given to those who are unable to meet the full costs of legal proceedings. Law firms that may take on Legal Aid cases have a Quality Mark which is issued by the Legal Services Commission.

Leisure	Legal matters concerned with sport, art and entertainment.

Licensing Law	Most commonly this relates to the permission to sell intoxicating liquor but other activities may also require licences. A license is required as this is normally prohibited.

Litigation	The process of bringing a law suit to court.

Local Government	The administrative functions of regional areas which are carried out by locally elected political bodies. Central government bestows these functions upon local governments.
