Bankruptcy	The process by which a debtor, through a trustee under court supervision, may clear their debts by paying creditors an approved portion of what is owed. A bankrupt is prohibited from certain activities, including being a member of parliament, a Councillor or a company director.

Biotechnology	The use of biological processes in industry, often to produce pharmaceuticals. Legislation regulates genetic engineering and patent protection is very important for biotech businesses.

Bloodstock	Laws relating to thoroughbred horses.

Breach of Confidence	When a duty of secrecy has not been observed, the person whose confidence has been broken may be able to sue.

Broadcasting	The body of law which relates to radio, television (including satellite) and cable transmissions. Legal issues which can arise in broadcasting include defamation and libel, as well as a host of regulatory matters.

Building and Construction	The laws relating to any building, structure or hoarding, whether temporary or permanent. It also refers to the construction, alteration, repair or maintenance of a building (or other civil engineering structure).

Building Societies	Building Societies are mutual organisations that accept deposits of money from people. This money is then used to make loans to house buyers, which were secured by mortgages. They now also offer many other financial services.
