Fieldings Porter was established in 1871 by a former Mayor of Bolton, Matthew Fielding, and has had a strong presence in the town ever since. Through the merger with a series of local firms over the years, the most recent being Porter Hope and Knipe in 1995, the Firm has taken its current shape, with 11 partners, 22 solicitors, a further 34 legal staff, 2 offices and a breadth of experience and knowledge of the law that is difficult for any other Firm in the area to match.
We pride ourselves in being able to assist you in any aspect of your personal or business life that requires legal advice, from making a will to setting up your own company. As evidence of our commitment to quality we have been awarded the Law Society quality mark Lexcel, alongside Investors in People and Legal Services Commission franchises for Family, Housing and Mental Health work, and a Criminal Defence Service contract, each of which require an annual audit of our procedures.
We are an accredited practice to provide training for solicitors prior to qualification and at any one time will have 6 trainee solicitors progressing through their training in a variety of departments.
In addition to providing legal advice, we are the only law firm in Bolton who is also able to provide financial planning advice through our Financial Planning Centre located at our Silverwell Street Office.
Fieldings Porter's main office is conveniently situated close to Bolton town centre and is within easy walking distance of both the railway and bus stations. Ample free parking is available to clients at the rear of the office. Our other office is located on the mainshopping street in Westhoughton.
