| Web Profile: |
The largest law firm based in Leicestershire, also with a Birmingham office, Harvey Ingram LLP offers a comprehensive range of legal services to clients in both the Midlands and throughout the UK. It boasts experience and expertise in every sector, encompassing all areas of corporate, commercial, litigation, property and private client work.
The firm
Harvey Ingram LLP combines a long tradition with a modern, forward-looking approach.
With 30 partners and a staff of over 200, Harvey Ingram offers an alternative to City firms by providing cost-effective solutions to both regional and national companies. It also has in-depth knowledge of the owner-managed sector, delivering a wealth of legal services to smaller businesses.
Among its major clients are a number of household names such as Alliance & Leicester, Vision Express (UK), National Car Rentals, Stead & Simpson, Shoe Zone, Billabong, Jones Bootmaker, Flogas, Everards Brewery, The BSS Group, Weetabix, David Wilson Homes and Persimmon Homes. Strong international links also enable the firm to advise on foreign matters, particularly in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
Types of work undertaken
Harvey Ingram comprises a number of principal service areas within property, litigation, corporate, commercial, trusts, personal injury and accident litigation, and private client but which also include a number of specialist teams covering such matters as banking, insolvency, projects, planning and construction, pensions, retail and intellectual property.
The firm’s corporate teams enjoy a growing reputation for handling large, high- profile and often complex deals, as well as dealing with a wide range of business acquisitions and disposals, company formations and MBOs and MBIs.
The emergence and consequent take up of new technology has led to a change of emphasis in the type of legal work undertaken by its commercial specialists. As increasing numbers of companies embrace e-business, they have seen a corresponding rise in the demand for advice on issues such as IP rights. The Pensions Team is also ensuring that both corporate and private clients are being fully updated on the extensive changes taking place in pensions law.
Harvey Ingram has a well-established property services team that encompasses everything from environmental law to landlord and tenant and from housing association law to construction projects. Retail property remains a particular strength, but it also has an increasingly strong reputation for advising on major urban regeneration schemes. The firm is also one of the panel solicitors appointed to act for the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) and more recently for the Leicester Regeneration Company.
Litigation provides a full range of commercial services including insolvency, building and property disputes, professional negligence and licensing. Employment law is a particular strength with a dedicated Employment Law Group. Personal injury cover a wide range of claims including medical negligence.
Private client work includes residential conveyancing, matrimonial and family, and trusts. Within trusts, the work encompasses estate and tax planning, the administration of trusts and estates and charity law. The firm acts for a large number of high-net-worth individuals in advising on all aspects of private client work.
Harvey Ingram LLP is committed to extending its lead in the regional marketplace while retaining its long-established reputation for client care and quality service. Accreditation to ISO 9001 has been in place since 1995.
