Insurance and reinsurance: Kendall Freeman has one of the UK’s leading insurance practices, specialising in coverage disputes, reinsurance, corporate finance and insolvency. Clients include major insurance companies, reinsurers, brokers, underwriting agents, P&I clubs and financial institutions. Insurance litigators handle market and coverage disputes, third party, construction, D&O, product liability and other claims.
International Law: Kendall Freeman has a strong practice in public international law and at the interface between public international and commercial law. The firm is one of the very few in the world that has a dedicated public international law group, the team is led by two partners and supported by the former Deputy Legal Adviser at the Foreign and Commonwealth office.
Product Liability: The Product Liability Group acts for manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, insurers and reinsurers in domestic and international matters relating to product liability. In addition to having wide experience in both the litigation and arbitration of disputes arising from a variety of products (most notably asbestos), the Group also offers advice on how clients can minimise their exposure to potential claims.
Restructuring and Insolvency: Kendall Freeman is a leading firm in the field of restructuring and insolvency. We are particularly renowned for our internationally recognised insurance insolvency practice. We have been involved in many of the largest and well-known insolvencies since the firm's inception, some 50 years ago. In addition to insurance insolvency, the firm’s strengths centre on large scale insolvencies involving international aspects where asset tracing, freezing and repatriation form a major component.
Commercial litigation and Arbitration: Kendall Freeman acts for major corporates in some of the largest and most complex contractual disputes in the High Court and in arbitration. We act for a wide range of public sector and private bodies in administrative, regulatory, human rights and judicial review matters. The team includes trained arbitrators, mediators and solicitor advocates.
Corporate: Kendall Freeman is one of the leading firms advising on Lloyd's and has particular expertise in alternative risk transfer (ART). The team advises on flotations, takeovers, public offers, share acquisitions and disposals, business and asset transfers, management buy-outs, joint ventures, financings and securitisations in the London insurance market.
Employment: Kendall Freeman's employment team advises on Employment Tribunal and High Court proceedings including those to obtain or oppose injunctions, boardroom disputes, discrimination claims, wrongful and unfair dismissal claims and outsourcing.
