Dismissing an employee is not an easy task, especially in light of current statutory procedures. This article outlines the procedures which should be followed and incorporated in any care provider's policies and procedures. There are also industry specific considerations including the POVA lists and nursing unions. However, the new Employment Bill is set to repeal the current statutory procedures and replace them with a procedure aimed more towards dispute resolution.
