Established in 1982, Watson, Farley & Williams is an international corporate and commercial law firm recognised for its excellence in banking and asset financing, particularly in the transport and energy sectors. The firm also advises in a number of specialist areas in corporate law, litigation and tax law. Through its international network the firm's lawyers are able to advise on English, French, German, Greek, Russian, Italian, Thai, New York and US Federal law. A key feature is the firm's division into four international practice groups: finance, corporate, litigation and tax. These groups are not divided by location but work together internationally, a structure of particular benefit to international clients. In 2001 the firm increased its presence in Asia by opening an office in Bangkok, and in November 2002 a new office was opened in Rome, followed by Hamburg in 2005.
The firm's client base is global, and includes international banks, financial institutions, quoted and private companies, in particular shipping, aviation, offshore oil and gas, commodities, power and energy, information, communications & technology (ICT) companies and governments and governmental agencies.
