Defendant Insurance Litigation
Keoghs is one of the principal providers of legal services to the UK’s insurance industry, acting for over 60 insurance clients. Specialist lawyers advise upon the full range of insurance claims from motor, household and EL/PL through to more specialist areas eg., regulatory prosecutions. The firm also has a team of cost negotiators. Most work involves litigated claims, but an increasing proportion of business is linked to pre-litigation activities.
Insurance fraud
Keoghs’ Counter-Fraud Services unit is dedicated to tackling insurance fraud. It is one of the largest and most authoritative counter-fraud resources in the country and has ‘across the board’ fraud expertise which spans all lines of business – in addition to motor fraud, dedicated, specialist teams deal with fraud ring investigations, low speed impact claims, liability and property fraud. A specialist division, Keoghs Intelligence Services, provides analytical, investigative and intelligence services at all stages of the fraud lifecycle.
Commercial litigation
The team acts for insurers and commercial businesses dealing with non-personal injury related matters. Skilled in alternative dispute resolution techniques, their expertise includes contractual and policy disputes, property damage claims, professional negligence, product liability, building and construction disputes and recoveries.
Motor Crime and Regulatory Prosecutions
The team deals with all aspects of criminal and regulatory prosecution arising from personal injury or death on the road, at work or in a public place.
Large Loss
Keoghs’ highly skilled large loss team includes some of the firm’s most senior and experienced lawyers. Its approach is based on building engagement and constructive dialogue with claimant’s solicitors.
Disease
Keoghs brought together its existing in-house expertise to form a dedicated Disease Team in 2007. Recruitment has further extended the breadth and depth of expertise within the team.
Employment
The team deals with all aspects of employment law, both for employers and for employees. They advise on contentious and non-contentious matters including contracts, policies, handbooks, dismissals and employment tribunal claims.
