Defendant Insurance Litigation
Keoghs is one of the principal providers of legal services to the UK’s insurance industry, acting for over thirty insurance organisations including most of the UK’s top ten composite insurers and a number of Lloyds syndicates. They are instructed directly by a number of major self-insured corporates. Specialist lawyers handle a full range of insurance claims including motor, large loss, disease, crime, regulatory, sports, household, employers' and public liability and travel claims. They also have structured client service teams who, utilising case management technology, deal with large volume defendant personal injury litigation.
Commercial Litigation
Keoghs’ commercial litigation team acts for insurer and commercial business clients. The team employs Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques where these provide the best commercial outcome for clients. They have a wide range of experience including product liability, contractual & policy disputes, professional negligence, household policy disputes, goods in transit and building and construction disputes. They also offer specialist products, for example to help insurers unblock backlogs of problem cases and to deal more effectively with recoveries.
Combating Insurance Fraud
Keoghs’ specialist claims unit is a market leader for advising upon strategy, tactics and investigation of suspected fraudulent insurance claims. They help insurers to implement and improve their anti-fraud strategies and advise on the development of fraud detection and handling processes including co-ordinating complex cross-insurer fraud rings.
